Meet Dr. Richardson
Dr. Richardson relocated from his home town of Los Angeles, CA to the Central Coast on May 31, 2018. On June 1, 2018, he purchased the office of Dr. Michael E. Jacobs which is also known as the Pismo Beach Optometric Center. Dr. Richardson is a graduate of U.C. Davis where he received his Bachelor’s Degree as a pre-med linguistics major. From there he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA where he acquired his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Richardson also did an internship at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta where under the guidance of Dr. Paul Ajamian, he acquired extensive knowledge in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.
After practicing in Atlanta for a couple of years, Dr. Richardson then moved back to Los Angeles and opened up his own private practice. After building a successful practice with a large contact lens patient base, Dr. Richardson then merged his practice with a lasik surgeon in West Los Angeles. After practicing a couple of years in West Los Angeles, the practice was taken over by a large commercial lasik chain due to the unfortunate sudden death of the lasik surgeon. Dr. Richardson then practiced with some of the top lasik and cataract surgeons in the world and thus acquired vast knowledge of cataract surgery, lasik surgery, and pre-operative and post-operative procedures.
State of the art eye exam equipment
Dr. Richardson has always worked with current technology and procedures, and he has already started to implement current technology, procedures, and treatment plans at the Pismo Beach Optometric Center. He also has added over 100 fresh new eyeglass frame choices to the existing inventory, and he will be bringing in a few high end luxury brands. Dr. Richardson has also brought in friendly and credentialed staff to give patients high quality service and knowledge for their frame and lens selections.
Dr. Richardson is also a USPTA Certified tennis instructor and former competitive player. He fully understands the visual needs and demands of tennis players, golfers, soccer players, basketball players, football players and many other athletes. He also understands the importance of protecting your eyes from harmful ultraviolet radiation while participating in outdoor sports.
Dr. Jacobs created an outstanding practice by giving quality service to his patients. Dr. Richardson’s goal is not only to maintain the level of quality that Dr. Jacobs created, but to exceed this level of quality with state of the art technology, friendly caring service, modern frame and lens choices, and current contact lens technology.
